H.E. The First Lady of the Republic of Ghana, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, climaxed the launch of Art Africa with her keynote address. She spoke about her appreciation of art at a young age and stated how a piece of art tells us about past and present civilizations and how art liberates our limitations. She congratulated trailblazers Ablade Glover and Larry Otoo among others for their hard work, that has birthed Art Africa. She ended her address by saying that it is now Africa’s turn to showcase what we have with the rest of the world.
After her speech, she was accompanied by Mr Larry Otoo, Mr Kojo Choi and Mr Seth Clottey in unveiling Art Africa. Art Africa launched the Osu Gallery on Friday 27th May 2022. The event was graced by dignitaries. H.E. Rebecca Akufo-Addo, the First Lady of the Republic of Ghana; Hon. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, MP for Korle Klottey Constituency; Hon. Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei, Dept. Minister for Trade & Industry and MP for Akuapem North; Mr Yofi Grant, CEO of GIPC; Ambassador Jung-Taek Lim of South Korea; Dr David Marion of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity from the USA, and many other dignitaries from the International and Ghanaian communities.
