Amerley Amarteifio
Amerley Amarteifio, a Ghanaian architect, is a graduate of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
Growing up in her father’s studio/home, she was exposed to various forms of art such as paintings, poetry, and sculpture, and engaged in daily discussions about how art intersects with everyday life.
This upbringing fostered her deep appreciation for art and a passion for creating and living with it. Even simple moments like biting into her breakfast bread and observing its transformation into the letter “E” ignited her acute awareness of extraordinary things hidden in her daily life and surroundings, which continues to inspire her to this day.
Lately, Amerley has embarked on capturing the essence of these cherished moments through abstract art. Her latest collection, titled “DISCOVERY,” delves into the exploration of complexity within simplicity.
Through the interplay of black, white, and polychromatic palettes, she skillfully communicates messages and evokes emotions in her viewers.
While her architectural background subtly influences her paintings, Amerley also relishes the freedom that creating art affords her. It allows her to transcend the constraints of her profession and express herself in ways that go beyond the realm of architecture.
